Details of the US Embassy Education Grant for Higher Education

The Public Diplomacy Section of the US Embassy in Abuja is inviting organizations to apply for a project that promotes U.S. higher education opportunities for talented, low-income Nigerian students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The focus of this grant is to enhance advising centers and provide financial assistance for the application process.

The selected partner will collaborate closely with Education Specialists from the Public Diplomacy Section in Abuja and Lagos to support the Education Advising Program in Nigeria for the 2025-26 academic year, including the Education USA Opportunity Funds Program. The partner will also assist Standard Advising Centers located in Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano.

 

Requirements for the US Embassy Higher Education Grant Opportunity

Organizations wishing to apply for this grant must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a non-profit organization, which includes think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations.
  • Be a public or private educational institution.
  • Be a public international organization or government institution.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued through SAM.gov and must be registered in SAM.gov.
  • Each organization is allowed to submit only one proposal. Submitting multiple proposals will result in all submissions from that organization being deemed ineligible for funding.
